Norberto Martin appears to be the player in the background of a Craig Grebeck card.  He didn't appear in any of the above games.  He was a September call up only appearing in games after 9/20.  ​Alvarez and Hernandez pitched together in 8 games. Not sure I can assume this was for a single game though. This Craig Grebeck card looks like it might be Norberto Martin behind him. I don't think it is Ozzie Guillen. Martin was #53, and not sure I can make that left number into a "5".


Indians Throwback Caps - 1993

1993 - Indians Throwback Caps. Unknown dates, at this point, for when the Indians wore at least 3 different Throwback hats. 

My best guesses on the teams thrown-back-to come looking at Baseball Uniforms of the 20th Century by Marc Okkonen.

I think these represent the 1909-1914 Cleveland Naps, or possibly the 1921-1932 Cleveland Indians (which wore a similar hat after their 1920 World Championship season).

This hat appears to be 1939-1940, 1942-1950 Cleveland Indians

Brewers at Rangers - May 1, 1993 & ​Rangers at Brewers - July 6, 1993

May 1, 1993 - Brewers at Rangers, and July 6, 1993 - Rangers at Brewers. What is in reality the first "Fauxback" Game with the Brewers wearing a 1930's styled Grey Pinstripe for both the home and away game. The Rangers also wearing a 1930's styled Home White Jersey. 

Notable players in May 1st game for Brewers - Pat Listach, Greg Vaughn, Tom Brunansky, B.J. Surhoff and Jesser Orosco. For the Rangers - Julio Franco, Jose Canseco, Juan Gonzalez, Dean Palmer, Rafael Palmeiro, and Ivan Rodriguez. 

Brewers in the July 6th game - Robin Yount, Greg Vaugh, and B.J. Surhoff. For the Rangers - Julio Franco, Rafael Palmeiro, Juan Gonzalez, Dean Palmer, Ivan Rodriguez and Charlie Leibrandt.

Just need to highlight how great these Kevin Brown cards are!!

Mariners at Royals - May 21, 1993

May 21, 1993 - Mariners at Royals. Another missed opportunity from the slew of card manufacturers. The Mariners threwback to 1977 with their Road Powder Blues. The Royals wore real flannel jerseys as they wore 1969 Home White throwbacks. 

Mariners that were missed being honored on a card - Randy Johnson (starter 8 IP CG), Ken Griffey JR, and Omar Vizquel. Royals played - Wally Joyner and Tom Gordon.

Orioles at Indians - June 19, 1993

June 19, 1993 - Orioles at Indians. Orioles put on 1954 Road Grey Jerseys, and the Indians honor their 1954 World Series team in Home White. 

Notable Orioles in this game - Cal Ripken JR, Fernando Valenzuela and Brady Anderson. Notable Indians - Kenny Lofton, Albert Belle, Carlos Baerga, and Glenallen Hill.

Reds at Pirates - July 11, 1993

July 11, 1993 - Red at Pirates. The Reds and Pirates throwback all the way to 1925. The National League Golden Jubilee patch figures prominently on the front of the Pirates jersey (similar to what the Giants did in 1992), and on the left sleeve of the Red jersey. 

Notable Reds in this game - Barry Larkin, Chris Sabo, Jose Rijo and Rob Dibble. Notable Pirates in this game - Jay Bell and Will Pennyfeather (I only put that name as I didn't even realize he made it to the majors).

Pirates at Phillies - August 1, 1993

August 1, 1993 - Pirates at Phillies. Pirates wear 1933 Pirates Grey Road Jerseys, and the Phillies wear 1993 Home White Jerseys in commemorating their team from 60 years prior. 

Notable Pirates in this game - Jay Bell and Lloyd McClendon. Notable Phillies in this this game - Lenny Dykstra, Mitch Williams and John Kruk.
