Athletics at Giants - April 2, 1994

April 2, 1994 - Athletics at Giants. In a Pre-season Bay Bridge series between interleague teams the Athletics throwback to the 1955 Oakland Oaks Pacific Coast League team. The Giants throwback to the 1955 San Francisco Seals. 

While this may not have been an official game these are still some of the best Throwback uniforms to have been worn by MLB Teams.

Pretty sure this flannel swatch in the Eckersley card are from this game.  I can't find any other games he would have worn this type of jersey.  

Giants at Athletics - April 3, 1994

April 3, 1994 - Giants at Athletics. The Bay Bridge Series flips locations with the Athletics hosting this game. Both teams flip to their 1955 jerseys Home/Road, with the Giants in grey flannel S.F. Seals Road jerseys that lacked pinstripes. The Athletics don similar jerseys to the April 2nd game, but in White.

Royals at White Sox - May 7, 1994

​May 7, 1994 - Royals at White Sox. The White Sox honor the 1920 Chicago American Giants with a Throwback cap for the day.

Notable White Sox in this game - Tim Raines, Frank Thomas, Julio Franco, Robin Ventura, and Jack McDowell.

Twins at Rangers - May 8, 1994

May 8, 1994 - Twins at Rangers. The Twins wear 1963 Minnesota Twins Grey Road Jerseys. The Rangers put a different spin on Fauxback by modeling their jersey after the 1963 Washington Senators, but replacing the "Senators" word mark with "Rangers". 

Notable Twins - Kirby Puckett, Chuck Knoblauch, Dave Winfield and Scott Erickson. Notable Rangers - Jose Canseco, Will Clark, Juan Gonzalez and Kevin Brown. 

Not sure why Dunn's SportsFlix card lacks the uniform "Twins" word mark. Also of note the Juan Gonzalez "Prime Nine" card is from 1998, 4 years after this game.

Twins at White Sox - May 26, 1994

Not sure this is a legit date, but it is in my spreadsheet.

Athletics at Mariners - June 11, 1994

June 11, 1994 - Athletics at Mariners. The card companies continue to have no love for Mariners home game throwbacks. Athletics put on the same Oakland Oaks Road Grey jerseys they wore in the Spring Exhibition against the Giants. The Mariners matched up with 1955 Seattle Rainiers from the Pacific Coast League. 

Notable Athletics in this game - Rickey Henderson, Ruben Sierra, Terry Steinbach and Ron Darling. Notable Mariners - Keith Mitchell, Ken Griffey Jr, Jay Buhner and Tino Martinez.

Athletics at Royals - August 3, 1994

August 3, 1994 - Athletics at Royals. Royals start their tradition of wearing Negro League throwbacks. Timing it with the opening of the Negro League Museum, the Royals wear 1924 Kansas City Monarchs Home White Pinstripe jerseys. Unfortunately this game also appears to lack any representation on baseball cards.

Orioles at Brewers - August 4, 1994

August 4, 1994 - Orioles at Brewers. Both teams put on 1970 throwback jerseys, Orioles in Road Grey and Brewers in their Home White. Mariners fans may recognize the jersey as the Mariners have thrown back to the Seattle Pilots in the past with identical jerseys, minus different word marks on the front.

Notable Orioles - Brady Anderson, Rafael Palmeiro, Cal Ripken Jr and Harold Baines. Notable Brewers - Kevin Seitzer and Cal Eldred. 

Unfortunately this appears to be the only card showing any jersey from this game.
