One of the larger group of birds that can be located in Calhoun County, containing 30 different species. Amongst these is the more common Canada Geese (background above), and the much less common Cackling Geese (foreground above). I show no less than 19 spots in the county in which one should be able to get looks at some of these species. Ideally the winter time, and during waterfowl migration in early spring, and late fall are the best times to find these birds. Especially those rarer birds.
21 of these species should be relatively easy to find (Code 1), 6 a little bit harder (Code 2), and 3 that are...well...glorious when found (Code 3). |
